From the start of the book I was hooked. When I got the “teaser” in my e-mail I wanted more. I couldn’t wait to start this book. So much so that I read this book in 4 hours! I could not put it down.
I am a suspense lover at heart! Give me a good suspense and you got me hooked. This is exactly what Ms. Denning did for me. The way she draws you in with just the start of the book is just awesome. Before you even get to the first chapter of the book she draws you in.
With the first page of the novel giving you a bit of a background into Millie’s life you automatically connect with her. I for one had a huge connection with Millie. I knew where Millie came from since I too am from a foster home background, but fortunate for me I was able to be adopted at a late age. I was able to understand through out the book when Millie would speak about some of the memories she had of growing up and how tough it is in the foster system. I think that is what connected me most to this book.
I feel that Millie had a great support system growing up once she found those friends in the book. After connecting with her in very start of the book I was just drawn in by the mystery of it all on who would want to hurt anyone, especially her!
We must talk about the heat that is in this book. The heat within this book is not for the faint of heart. It is graphic, and it brings you to the scene like you are the one that is there and you are the one that is within the scene not Millie. You ARE Millie! The heat will bring you blood to a boil and leaving you wanting more.
The suspense leaves you sitting at the edge of your seat the heat leaves you wanting more. Ms. Denning’s writing is wonderful. I would highly recommend this book if you can handle this type of book. I cannot wait to read more of Ms. Denning’s books in the future.
